I don’t know if this was a planned outcome, or just nature doing it’s thing –
The Black-eyed Susans look like they’re moving in for the kill.
Looked cool at the time. I like it.

Went to the grocery store on the way home, and guess what I see….
Here’s a hint –
You got it, it’s the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!!! No baloney!! (Don’t roll your eyes at me, you know I had to) –
They drove it up from California, it’s road legal and everything –
Well, you don’t see that every day. Unless you’re the guy that drives the Wienermobile. Then it’s all rather ho-hum I suspect. Another day on the job, listening to idiots like me make wiseacre comments comments about the GIANT hot-dog you drive.
Soon this little guy will be a giant sunflower –
Sunflowers remind us of France. I think that’s why they get planted every year. I also think it’s kinda funny watching the squirrels eat all the seeds off the top.
Should get back to France.
Just a little patience. Finally got the hummingbird in the lens –
She was quite nervous, and didn’t hang around long, constantly checking her surroundings
I hope I can catch her mate, he’s got great, iridescent colors on his head-dress.
As an aside; This is probably the final nail in the coffin of this particular camera lens. I don’t particularly care for the way these photos are turning out. And since I know it’s not me, it must be the gear. Right? I also refuse to manipulate these shots, so what the camera sees, is what you get. It’s all about learning and getting better. No point in making the software make you look like a hero. Hows about taking a better shot to start with??? Any recommendations from you Canon people out there would be more than welcome.
I sit and wait for the hummingbirds. They seem to know when I have the camera out. No camera, they will buzz right by your ear. Camera out, they’re nowhere to be seen. Thankfully we’ve got the rest of the crew to keep the shutter going –
He’s cool. And he eats well.
I don’t need a fancy weather forecaster. I don’t have a Farmer’s Almanac. I don’t need any of those things. Here’s how I know –
My top secret seasonal prediction tool is indicating a fast approaching fall. (The fern in front of the house is showing the signs of giving up for the year. The heat of last week certainly didn’t help.)
Well that’s it folks, two more weeks of the nice weather, then it’s time to batten down the hatches in anticipation of….
Wait for it….
FALL!!!!
Which can only mean one thing. Any guesses?
