Just walking around

Looking in storefront windows. Window shopping as it were (though I wasn’t shopping for windows. Misnomer.). Sometimes it’s not what’s behind the glass, sometimes it’s what’s in front of the glass that makes the store inviting. This worked –

Frilly

They weren’t selling windows, so maybe that helped too?

Working for a living

This cat had it going on!

Cool Cat

Fur coat on, singing Buffett tunes at the market. Good work my man, good work.

Light at the end of the tunnel

Metaphorically speaking anyway. The good foot Dr. has relieved the patient of the crutches she held with such disdain. Three more weeks of the boot, and we she will be good as new.

Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is actually just at the end of the pier –

Beacon

A lot shorter trek to the end of the pier versus the tunnel. So we got that going for us.

People take things in the movies too seriously

For instance, ‘If you build it, they will come.’ from Field of Dreams. Some doorknob took this way to seriously and built a GIANT FERRIS WHEEL right down on the waterfront –

Great Wheel

Great movie, great story, great line. One problem; When it’s 30 out and threatening snow, nobody wants to ride a 320 foot tall Ferris Wheel. The employees were huddled around a fire burning in a trash barrel, drinking whiskey out of a bottle concealed in a paper bag. No wait! Those might have been homeless people. Not sure. Either way, the place was deserted.

At least it’s not an eyesore.

Chasing the sunset

At forty thousand feet –

forty thousand feet

I don’t know if they’ll catch it or not, but they’re giving it a go.

Good for them.

Tradition

Sometimes you are forced to break with tradition, but you make do with what you got –

Whiskey

It ain’t the Dubb Linn Gate, but it’s what we got.

Thanksgiving 2013.

Raking flower beds

Not going to Whistler for our annual tradition of turkey, whiskey & Stilton (not so much on the turkey actually, but in the spirit of things…), so might as well make myself useful around here. And since the hydrangea has finally given in to the onset of winter –

Hydrangea

I’ll start my raking right there, before the snow flies next week. If the snow flies. Not like the weather forecasters really know.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Rain’s a comin

Just hard to tell from the blue skies –

Clouds

At least we’re not getting smacked like most of the country…..

Speaking of hanging out

Had a bit of a birthday this week (not mine, we’ve cancelled that for the foreseeable). So first, thanks to all of you that sent notes and cards and such, the birthday girl genuinely appreciates your kind wishes.

Second, what’s a birthday without Ray’s?

Ray's

About as useless as a birthday without cocktails –

B-Day cocktails

Never-mind the reading glasses, they were the, uh, waiter’s?

All in good fun. Thanks everyone.

Fern

Found this guy holding on –

Ferne

With it freezing at night and a high of 42, it’s not likely to make it much longer.
