Disaster has struck –

Someone, (or someones?) have discovered the sunflowers. They didn’t even have the decency to wait for the flower to really open up. Nope, they just went to town, eating all the seeds. Look closely and you can see the carnage –

I suspect the squirrels. Or the Steller’s Jays.

They haven’t hit the other two plants trees yet. I’m sure it’s a matter of time.

What a disaster.

You better get a move on,

Halloween will be here before you know it. And you certainly can’t go dressed like that –

And it’s not like you can try again next year. Miracle Grow anyone?

Time to kickoff this season

Yes, I like football. I have to leave now –

If it’s an emergency, call me the second weekend of February.

Yours truly,

The Mgmt.

Garden napping –

In the afternoon sun, nestled in amongst the shrubbery, Barley takes an afternoon nap –

Way to go cat, you’re made everyone either jealous, or tired.

That’ll help keep their attention.

Now THIS is how to spend a paid day off of work

Inching along, at your own pace, doing whatever you do, without regard to anything –

Of course, Marla said he was bad for the garden, and threw him in the recycle bin. He’ll have plenty to worry about when the yard waste gets picked up tomorrow.

More from the coast ride

As promised;

All paths lead to the ocean. Well, this one did anyway –

Coastlines need lighthouses for the sailors. They put this one on an island three miles out to sea. Which makes the little camera struggle, but you get the point –

We found the world’s largest spruce tree. It’s a hundred-ninety-one feet tall, 1000 years old, and sixty feet around. It lives near Lake Quinault, in the rainforest, which gets around 12 FEET of rain each year. The tree in question –

The lake in question –

Perfect weather for the coast –

That concludes today’s lesson on how to ride your motorcycle around the Peninsula.

Now, if I could only get motivated to finish the lessons on Whistler, Pebble Beach, Vancouver, and the Blue Angels, we’d be somewhere closer to caught up.

Anyways, thanks for tagging along.

Milton saw the ocean –

It was his first trip to the Pacific since he was shipped over from China on a cargo ship –

The view is much better this way. As long as he doesn’t let go of the clutch reservoir, we’ll be fine.

A lovely tour of the Olympic Peninsula; 6 hours of riding, and somewhere around 275 miles. New seat is working out well. Stopped in Port Angeles for lunch, and a couple other spots along the way. More tomorrow, I’m going to bed.

Hit the road

Off to see the ocean. Found it right next to the Half Moon Bay Bar and Grill in Westport. They’re famous for their Bloody Mary –

Not bad, but it might been a bit of false advertising. Did like the mad collection of nibbles on the rim of the glass.

Quite the fishing villiage –

Tomorrow off to Forks and wherever.

Help! They’ve surrounded us….

I don’t know if this was a planned outcome, or just nature doing it’s thing –

The Black-eyed Susans look like they’re moving in for the kill.

Looked cool at the time. I like it.

You don’t see that every day….

Went to the grocery store on the way home, and guess what I see….

Here’s a hint –

You got it, it’s the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!!! No baloney!! (Don’t roll your eyes at me, you know I had to) –

They drove it up from California, it’s road legal and everything –

Well, you don’t see that every day. Unless you’re the guy that drives the Wienermobile. Then it’s all rather ho-hum I suspect. Another day on the job, listening to idiots like me make wiseacre comments comments about the GIANT hot-dog you drive.
