Squirreling* around

*Squirreling: verb – Move in an inquisitive and restless manner

We did. Seems everyone was doing it –

Chipmunk

Today’s highlights include a mountain I don’t know the name of, Hood I think –

Mount Hood

Rocks under quarantine –

Rocks

At 7700 feet, there’s plenty of snow still around –

7700 feet

And thanks to a suggestion from Pop, Crater Lake –

Lake and motorcycle

Crater Lake

Island

Sure is

Thanks for the suggestion Pop, it was a perfect day to visit the lake. I’ll see you tomorrow.

For the rest of you, if you’ve never seen Crater Lake you should. My shoddy photo skills  certainly do not do it justice.

Milton kept us on course and has secured another day in the Navigator’s chair. We’ll see if he can get us to Tahoe tomorrow…..

We got lost

And ran into closed roads

And turned the wrong way

But we did find the mountain we set out for, she was playing hide-n-seek in the clouds –

Hiding

Rainier

Right after that we went through a dark tunnel and had difficulty finding our way –

Through here

Tunnel of love

That’s when it got hot (in the 90’s), we got lost, traffic jams, construction delays, you name it. We found our way, even though it wasn’t what we had in mind. Last shot of the day; find the waterfall –

Waterfall

It’s there, keep looking

So there’s that. We’re looking into alternate routes for tomorrow. We’re rather lost. Milton is on the verge of quitting. All good. We’re having a blast.

More later.

He said ‘Let’s ride’

So we will. Tomorrow we’re off to see a Mountain (Rainier), and a whole load of twisty roads we’ve never ridden. Milton is playing Lead Navigator on this trip, he’s READY!

Milton

I’ll take photos, but no guarantees that I’ll post in a timely manner. Wish us luck.

‘Rev it up, rev it up little boy and ride’

Crazy rains

Last few days have brought some nutty weather. The wildlife is having a hard time keeping up. So this afternoon, when the sun came out, the workforce was right back at it. Even the butterflies were doing the pollinating –

Butterfly

Good work butterfly, seems all the bees have taken the afternoon off.

Making new friends

On my stroll today, found a new pal –

Sam

He didn’t have a collar, so I named him Sam. We talked motorcycles, racecars and fine whiskey for a while. Then he up and boogied off to chase a butterfly.

Thanks for hanging out with me Sam, good chat.

Scheming

Adjective – Given to or involved in making secret and underhanded plans.

Scheming

“You get the levers, I got these foot pedals figured out. Now, if we could just find a way to turn the key!”

Silly gatos, no opposing thumbs for you.

Compared to yesterday,

Today was roses –

Roses

And rain.
But that’s a Seattle in June thing. We’ve come to appreciate it.
The roses do to.

As Spring winds down,

Summer is in the on-deck circle, taking a few practice swings. I thought a few photos of the hard work Spring has put in were in order –

Golden Poppy Purple somethings Reds and purples

Nice work Spring, you’ve done well. See you in 9 months or so.

Thanks,

The MGMT.

Stupid cats!

STOP CHASING THE BIRDS! I know it’s in your DNA and all that, but stop. We feed you. Too much according to the doc. You don’t even eat the birds, you just wanna play with the damn things. YOU HAVE TEN MILLION TOYS SCATTERED ALL OVER THE HOUSE! Play with them. I’d just rather you not catch the birds and drag them inside. I’m don’t get all ‘Proud Papa’ when you do that. In fact, it’s kinda nasty. And then I gotta vacuum all the feathers up and all that. Not cool, cats, not cool.

You’re lucky this Jay didn’t turn around and decide to kick your butt –

Jay feather

And don’t you even THINK about starting with mice or anything of that sort.
