Travel by foot

If you want to find those waterfalls in Canada, you gotta get your walking shoes on. Couple of shots from the hike to and from Nairn falls.

Did that make any noise?

Fallen

Yes, that river was making some noise –

Flowing

This rock wouldn’t fit in your living room –

Mossy Rock

And this little bugger wasn’t giving up. No way, no how –

Twist-Tree

All in good fun. Just bring those walking shoes.

OH Canada!

Canada. America’s hat. And exceptional purveyor of bears –

BEAR! More BEAR!

Good looking bear. Just hanging out having a salad. Watching her figure I’m sure.

And another thing they’re good at in Canada? Waterfalls! Such as Alexander Falls –

Alexander Falls

The 230 foot drop of Brandywine Falls –

Brandywine Falls

And a couple of rumblin, stumblin, bumblin, Nairn Falls –

Nairn Falls top Nairn Falls bottom

And that concludes our ‘What Canada’s good at’ nature tour for today. But not before one last bear shot. We think it’s the same bear, the following day. You be the judge –

Same BEAR! Different day

More documentation of the field trip to Canada tomorrow.

Went golfing on Sunday

Only birdies that I had any shot at –

???????????????????????????????

On the first tee at Druid’s Glen. Mom duck was there to make sure the troop was safe. Everyone safely navigated their tee shots, and that was the last, best shot at birdie I had all day.

Dunno what he is

But I like the purple in him –

Purple

Probably some sort of hybrid named after the local college team colors.

Caught red handed

Or red pawed, as it were –

Guilty

Just looks guilty, doesn’t he?

Blustery

Sums up today quite nicely –

Now it’s off to find cocktails and deep fried pickles.

This almost never happens

Not to our rhododendron anyway. Despite it’s lack of sun and nutrients, it’s blooming –

Small Rhodie

Just a couple flowers on ours. Unlike this big bastard across the street from Señor Yatés –

Big Rhodie

Now that’s a rhodie!

And yes, it’s raining around here.

Just goofing around with the camera

Love the ultra-shallow depth of field in these two –

Bleeding Hearts

Shallow Azalea

Just goofing around. Tomorrow I’ll try and bring it back the other way a bit.
No promises, I’ll try. But if it rains, all bets are off.

About a month

That’s how far behind we are compared to Augusta National –

Azalea

At least when it comes to the Azaleas being in bloom.
