One of those days

The sun was out, it hit 75 on the thermometer, I didn’t have to go to work! What more could you want? We went to Rays –

Then we went over to the locks, and saw Doc Brown –

The salmon are running, the boats are all heading for the lake to see the fireworks show, we just played tourist and saw these –

We have the white version in the yard, although we were told they are called Pink as well. I gotta find out if they wanna make a trade…..

Happy Fourth of July everyone; Stay safe. It sounds like a bombing range by my house, the cats are pissed, my Italian-Canadian friend Gee had to take off with his dog for the quiet of the mountains.

Ed – Happy birthday!!!

You have to look closely

The crop is there, if you can see it –

Some encouragement from the sun the next few days might help….

Another nice thing,

about all the rain this year, the garden flowers are going gangbusters –

I don’t even know what it is, but in a week or two the thing is going to explode with color.

I’ll keep you posted.

Us versus them

It’s not a GIANT inflatable hat or anything, but we have put up our Fourth of July decorations –

It’s all good.

Played a little golf today

Certainly you wouldn’t want to see that, so along the same theme of golf, is an update regarding the divots from Pebble Beach –

Marla has them going gangbusters. She gives them ‘haircuts’ with a pair of scissors and everything. I think the climates are similar enough, they’ll actually make it.

I hope.

In triplicate, please

Who doesn’t love forms? The kind with the tear off edges for to printer’s feed wheels –

Initialize here, sign and date there, fingerprints go there, and a pint of blood in this. Great, now, could you throw this away. Please? No, but I’ll be happy to recycle it for you. Thanks.

Forms. Classic.

She’ll be Waltzing again soon

As the bird flies, 2 miles from our house, is an International Airport. Not very big, doesn’t even have a paved runway. In fact, there is no runway. When the pilots call in for clearance to land, they’re not just interested in wind speeds and weather. They also ask about the waves. Kenmore Air operates a satellite hub out of the very Northern tip of Lake Washington. For floatplanes. Or seaplanes. Whatever.

So I thought I’d stop over after work to see if there was anything cool to take pictures of and, lo and behold, there she was –

I think the paint was still drying! Someone went to a lot of time and trouble to replicate a very cool idea that was wedged in the deep nooks and crannies of their brain and or heart. To that, Sir or Madam, I say “WELL DONE!”.

She’s a 1956 de Havilland Beaver, originally delivered to the US Army in June of 1956. She bounced around a bit after service life, was crashed in January of 1981, and brought back to life not long after. She’s now a resident of my local, International Airport.

Rocky & Bullwinkle, were clearly jealous of the attention being paid to the old Army plane –

They shouldn’t be. Anyone that can takeoff and land in water is pretty cool.

Hard to photograph –

Chickens. They don’t stay still. The cats, hey, they sleep half the day. Flowers, trees, stuff like that, is all rooted down and not going anywhere. Even dogs know how to relax, sit still and take a photo. Chickens? They NEVER stop moving. Darting back and forth. Pecking at imaginary food specks. All quick, short, bursts of movement that make it hard to photograph them.

Sometimes you get –

Or –

Sometimes it works out and you get this –

Or this –

Silly animals.

Outside = mostly done

We had the City of Lake Forest park out watching the window and door installs today. What a bunch of donkeys turtles –

They watched and waited for me to fall afoul of the rules, but  alas, I didn’t even know the rules. Nor how to break them.

Good turtles, now back to work…..

Suumertime

First full day of Summer, and we get a healthy dose of this –

You won’t hear me complaining though. Bonus, it should make the gardening work (weeding) tomorrow, that much easier.
