Rains were in charge today. Never really let go of their hold. Made the whole day look like a hangover. And some party-pooper city employee in charge of protecting us from ourselves preventing lawsuits against the city/county/state had to remind me that monkeying about on the seawall was a no-no –
At least they asked nicely.
Otherwise I was climbing up there and doing back flips and handsprings and stuff. I got that in my repertoire.
They couldn’t have stopped me ya know.

What do you see?
What I see is a light at the end of the long path I’ve taken this week to get to my hard earned weekend.
Now I know you’re thinking, ‘Wait, it’s Monday knucklehead, what’re you talking about weekend?’
To which I say, ‘It’s use it or lose it time at the ol’ gristmill. I think I’ll go ahead and use it.’ Which means my first week of work in February consisted of exactly ONE day. Awesome, huh?
Now, what to do with the next 7 days……? I vow to be completely nonproductive. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll keep you posted.

How does your municipality waste your money? Mine did it with this –
Whispering Willow Park. Well, 90% of it anyway, there’s a couple more benches just out of the frame. And yeah, that’s it. Tucked between two houses, and behind the supermarket. And all I can do is ask myself – ‘What did that cost?’
Don’t get me wrong, I like parks and all. This is not a park. This is a walkway. You can’t throw a ball around in this park. You can’t play with your dog in this park. You have one option, walk to a bench and have a sit. This is not the first park in this town of less than 100 square feet of usable space.
What a waste. In so many ways. I hope the mayor gets a nice plaque engraved with her name on it for all the future generations to see.
Rant over, back to what you were doing.

Nice in that it clears out all the fair-weather types and I get the whole place to myself.
I know, kinda selfish.
Kinda peaceful too.
Totally calm.

Looking all the world like he absolutely OWNS the place. I’m not gonna argue with him either.
And if your 4G/LTE/whatever connection went out, it’s probably cause he pooped.

Ducks are funny. This one steamed right over in search of a free meal –
Only to turn around and head right back to where he came from once he found out I had no free dinner for him.
Come to think of it, I’ve met a few women like that.
