Worthless

Got the motorcycle out and went over to John’s new house to help with whatever. It was a solid rain when I left, but then this happened after I got there –

Temporary

Didn’t do a single productive thing while I was there. In fact, I think I may have made things worse. Took a couple photos that came out okay, but that’s not really helping –

When I went to leave, the rain returned. Along with some solid wind. Made the ride home entertaining.

That’s all I’ve got to show for an entire Saturday. Pretty worthless I was.

Sorry John, I sucked at today.

To each his own

The crows were using the moon to direct themselves home –

We chose the local watering hole instead –

AHHHH, 4 days off

Marla went with the pear vodka and ginger ale. I went the Patron and Heineken route myself.

Not like it was sake or anything outrageous.

And it sure beats going to the gym.

Right Gui?

Happy birthday JohnCap! First birthday West of the Mississippi, if that means anything….

Yard art?

My neighbor loves holidays –

Not just these holidays either. ALL holidays. Valentines day, May day, Oktoberfest, Boxing day, whatever, he hangs out the yard art. He’s cut back on the Christmas stuff this year, nothing on the roof, no live reindeer, none of that. I’m gonna thank the economy for this….

Brought to you by the rainy season

Starring –

The inside of the house. That’s right, it’s raining tons, snowed this morning, and will likely freeze/howl/puke/rally more tonight. It’s enough to make a hardened Seattleite stay indoors. So that’s what I’m doing.

Lurking about

We have visitors hanging out in the wreath over the fireplace –

As long as they don’t get into a scrap up there, well then, alright by me.

You can tell I’m in the holiday swing of things can’t you?

Happy Birthday Tom.

And on December 17th

This silly camellia is blooming –

Blooming Camelia

It’s in the forties, gonna get colder tonight. Maybe some snow around here overnight. And this tough guy decides to go into bloom.
I guess that’s what they do.
Hummingbirds gotta eat too.
Right?

Went downtown today

Went to the motorcycle show, played tourist, had lunch. I think the tourist bit was the best part. Took this rather popular shot –

Pike Place Market

Turned out well. Maybe well enough to print up and glue to a wall around here somewhere?

Lunch was a close second. The motorcycle show, a rather distant third.

In summary

This was how I felt today; grey, industrial, and cold –

That what I get for carrying on last night.
So I went to The Sloop for a couple.
Felling much better now, thanks.

Socked in

Mother Nature decided it was a good weekend to bring the clouds to the humans. Even though I was helping the Kiwi relocate his belongings to his new place. Cold, thick, chilling, damp, wet, soup; Whatever you want to call it –

Grey is

All enveloping, right down to the trees –

Solid effort from the Yates’ and Mother Nature. See you both tomorrow. Tonight, we party like Marla’s work is paying for it (which they are).

You know it’s winter in Seattle when,

The mushrooms are the only thing growing in your yard –

Shrooms

Come Springtime, I take a 7 iron to them all. Good way to knock the rust of the golf swing, and dispose of the things.
