By a tree?

I think it’s official. Yesterday on the way home, Mother Nature threw the switch from Summer to Fall.
Rain/sun/rain/sun for the better part of the day. This beacon guided me home –

The pot (heart) of gold at the end of the rainbow is the lady I share a toothbrush rack with.
Makes living in this valley pretty alright.
Actually, up before the sun. Out rooting around the Valley and took some photos.
Moon was up still. This is the field where the elk have been lately, but not this morning. Only coyotes and hawks looking for breakfast –

I love that there is an old racehorse training farm out here. I have always wanted to take photos here and I like the way a couple of these came out. I pulled the color out of the last one for fun (I like what id did with the low fog), but the original looks good too. I’ll come back for sure.

This guy doesn’t race, just hangs out looking like he owns the place (again, I took the color out cause I like the way it looks, kinda old-timey) –

Looking downriver, towards the sunrise. This time of the year it’s definitely more North than East –

Follow the river upstream a bit and you MIGHT just find a classic. And while it may not be for sale, it does make a good subject –

Around the corner and you find the farmers have cut and bailed up their fields for the first time this summer. And if look real close you can see Rainier peeking out in the distance –

Find it? Here’s a closer look. Just over the trees in the center of the shot –

Happy Fourth of July everyone. I’m off to the parade in a bit – https://www.carnation4th.org/
They FINALLY got the highway work completed, so we can get back to running right thru the center of town again. Always worth a giggle and nothing wrong with beers at Pete’s at 11am (you can’t be called out for drinking beer all day unless you start in the morning…)
This group of bucks has been hanging around this week.
Thursday on the way into work. Cold, foggy, overcast, and just right for breakfast – These guys were about 100 yards away.

And then on Friday after work, about seven in the evening – These two were about 75 FEET away.

Pretty majestic animals. And just a couple miles from the house. Quite lucky to see that on my commute.
