You should teach

Yesterday’s duck could learn a thing or two about how to pose like you –

Cormorant

This one has it figured out! He’s a Double-crested Cormorant. He’s young, maybe a year or so. And he’s way ahead of the duck. At least as far as posing for the camera. On a perfect, Spring-like afternoon.

Good work Cormorant. Thanks.

Look alive duck

There might be tourists watching –

Duck

We can clearly see your feet on the log under the water. Nobody thinks you’re swimming.
Better up your game duck. There’s other waterfowl out there looking for a sweet gig like yours.

How’d they do that?

Wind blew around here yesterday. Knocked over trees. Power out all over the place. The folks on the ferry runs were in for a wild ride.

So how do these little guys manage to hang on though that?

Daffodils

Happy little flowers. Strong too!

Squirrels

This one’s a bit out of shape regarding the lack of free food –

Devil squirrel

Or he’s the Devil Squirrel.
Either way, I’m staying clear.
And finding some peanuts for him, PRONTO! Before he gets angry.

Atonement

So, in an effort to make up for the Ostrich, Mother Nature made the Peacock –

BAAAA

And in a real circle of life kind of way, I offer you this –

Newborn A Newborn B

Newborn sheep! Twins, about an hour old. Photos don’t serve them well; Shooting through wire mesh in a dimly lit barn will do that. These two are not ready for primetime just yet, but these guys are –

One day old

This guy is 1 day old and in more interested in mom’s milk than posing for me and my silly camera. That’s why we have Lucy Legwarmers –

Lucy Legwarmers

I have NO idea why they call her that, but she’s a good sport about the picture taking –

Watching over her

Hi there

Although it is all a bit of work for a 1 week old sheep and sometimes you just gotta NAP

Tired Much

Nicely done mama sheep.

And thanks Mother Nature, great timing.
