Out and about

Just a couple shots from the around the valley last couple of days…

It ain’t Brooklyn, but someone’s dwelling in that Castle up on the hill. What a view!

Even on the dark, cloudy days of Winter, Rainier is towering over the valley.

Not quite Swan Lake. More like Swan Flooded Farm Pasture.

That’s all I’ve got for now. More later.

MMMMOOOO-RY CHRISTMAS!!!

From our* farm to yours, wishing you a Merry Christmas

*It’s not actually ‘our’ farm. Someone else owns it and puts the hat on the cow and all that. We just like that it’s just around the corner and we can stop by and see all the wildlife carrying on.

Eagle Sightings

Stopped in Brakendale to see if the Eagles were out. Yup, a few of them were out getting lunch and cruising around –

All in all a nice stop on a nice day.

Sometimes things work out

Sometimes they don’t. Bomb cyclone had the power out and everything at work shuttered. Event cancelled, store closed, got me some free daylight. A few shots on the way home.

Right shot –

Wrong settings –

Take the good with the bad I guess.

Fall 2024

Fall is here. Good time of the year to take a couple photos. Getting out of work a bit late to coincide with the sun going down helped.

First the large moose try their hand at karaoke –

Next thing you know, they’re cracking skulls to impress the ladies –

All while the leaves are changing colors and making a mess of the lawn –

Rainy season is next. Maybe a stormwatching trip to the coast is in order….

More later.

World’s Largest Goats

They’re out at the farm getting fat for the winter –

2 generations here –

Most of the boys are still in hiding. Weather is turning, so they’ll be around soon enough.

Seafair happened

Couple of weeks ago actually. Chamber of Commerce weather. Went down to the end of the runway to take in the sights.

F35. Headed right at us just off the ground and right over our heads decides to go STRAIGHT up! Absolutely nuts. And probably caused some hearing loss –

Then the Blue Angels took off in formation with Rainier in the background –

They went over the winery in their diamond formation –

And then gave a final buzz over the winery as they landed –

Good fun with good wine and good people.

New neighbors

Down at the farm, they moved the alpaca a couple weeks ago and moved in 3 cows. Personally, I like the alpaca better, but whatever. But then this little guy showed up –

Only 3 days old! Cute little bugger.

His roommates –

Well, that’s it from the farm this week. We’ll check in with our new neighbor Hamburger (I named him) later this month.
