Actually, up before the sun. Out rooting around the Valley and took some photos.
Moon was up still. This is the field where the elk have been lately, but not this morning. Only coyotes and hawks looking for breakfast –

I love that there is an old racehorse training farm out here. I have always wanted to take photos here and I like the way a couple of these came out. I pulled the color out of the last one for fun (I like what id did with the low fog), but the original looks good too. I’ll come back for sure.

This guy doesn’t race, just hangs out looking like he owns the place (again, I took the color out cause I like the way it looks, kinda old-timey) –

Looking downriver, towards the sunrise. This time of the year it’s definitely more North than East –

Follow the river upstream a bit and you MIGHT just find a classic. And while it may not be for sale, it does make a good subject –

Around the corner and you find the farmers have cut and bailed up their fields for the first time this summer. And if look real close you can see Rainier peeking out in the distance –

Find it? Here’s a closer look. Just over the trees in the center of the shot –

Happy Fourth of July everyone. I’m off to the parade in a bit – https://www.carnation4th.org/
They FINALLY got the highway work completed, so we can get back to running right thru the center of town again. Always worth a giggle and nothing wrong with beers at Pete’s at 11am (you can’t be called out for drinking beer all day unless you start in the morning…)
Beautiful shots! I’m torn on the race horse photos. The color in the original is great, the one with the color pulled out goes nicely with the horse who owns the place. Classic #2 is great – did you also pull the color out of this one?
Have a great 4th of July! Enjoy the parade!

I took the color out of the last two shots at the horse form – one of the starting gate and the next one of the horse in the field by the house.
I’ll have to go back on a rainy day this fall and see what I can do.
